The vodou sector benefits, for the first time, from a state budget allocation, like other religious denominations recognized in Haiti. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cults, Raina Forbin, made the announcement on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, during a meeting with leaders of the sector.

The meeting focused on strengthening the dialogue between the state and representatives of this religious denomination, as well as on the modalities for using the support fund allocated to it. “This envelope of 50 million gourdes, approved by the Council of Ministers as part of the budget adopted on September 30, 2026, is intended to support collective interest initiatives benefiting the sector,” reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cults in a statement on Wednesday.
