Before embarking on higher education after defending his thesis in 2007, Georges Eddy Lucien taught at the secondary level in the past. He was a teacher of geography, history, and even mathematics. "This is why I was able to transition smoothly into higher education, where I alternate between history and geography," he said. Geography is the discipline to which he has dedicated himself strongly in recent years, given that all his responsibilities fall within the field of territorial sciences.

A respected and respectful professor, Georges Eddy Lucien had an atypical schooling. At the university level, he first studied mathematics (which he taught at the secondary level), then social sciences at the École normale supérieure (ENS) of the State University of Haiti, before finally turning to history and geography at the graduate level. Due to his numerous responsibilities, Georges Eddy Lucien is sometimes "unreachable." When asked to see him, his close associates often respond, "It is difficult to meet him; he doesn't really have time." The researcher devotes a large part of his time to teaching. Almost every day, he can be found in a classroom or in the field with his students, bridging theory and practice.
